Day One: Going Indie

Today is the start of something new. I’m not the most patient person in the world and I’m quite tired of waiting for something magical to happen. So it’s time to make something magical happen. What am I talking about you might be asking?

I’m going Indie.

As in Indie Publisher. Fearlessly putting my books (or more accurately, book) out there for all the world to see. Well… possibly see… if i’m lucky of course… and a small miracle happens. Taking matters into my own two hands, fighting against the odds to make my book visible in the sea of the millions of books that are out there.

So what I’m saying is, it’s not going to be easy. But really what is? From what life has taught me, nothing is easy. But, it has also taught me that if you put your mind to a task, and put hard work behind it, eventually it will pay off.

My intention is to keep a short journal of my activities throughout this exciting journey and hopefully pass on some advice, lessons learned, and success stories along the way. This is also my way of drawing a proverbial line in the sand, throwing my head back and shouting to the sky, “Dear Lord, what the heck am I doing!”

Uh… I mean… “Here I come, there’s no turning back now.”

Hmmm. That really doesn’t sound any better.

How about this? “This is day one of me succeeding as an Indie Publisher!”
